Well, in my opinion they don't have to be waterproof to be good anti-rain hats -- since they are knit, they are fairly absorbent, keeping *you* dry as long as you're only out for a little while. But they also dry quickly once you get inside, so you don't have to worry about protecting them from the rain.
Kinda like a hooded sweatshirt for your head, really. You don't want to rely on them to protect you from a torrential downpour, but they're plenty good enough for walking the doggie or waiting for the bus. :)

I like it! It's exactly the style of hat I thought you should get when you were complaining that it was raining and you didn't have a hat. :)

But it's a warmth hat, not an anti-rain hat. It's like, knit, or something. Not waterproof.
